Without View

Without view, just leaving our hands to look out for the clues, in the very beginning of the course, we lost the sense of sight to approximate each other only by touch, pressure, caress, handle, palpate. Touch produces different sensory information to that provided by the eye... it’s not just reactive but also active (Sherrington, C. 1906 The Integrative Action of the Nervous System, en Sennet, R. 2099. El Artesano, Barcelona: Anagrama; 189). By disabling the sense of sight we took under concern other facts of recognition such as weight, softness, warmth and movement that usually are not relevant at a first contact, and we considered hands as the basic instrument for exploring the unknown. 

 

Unexpected class of Japanese Martial Art

Using one's hands to control the hands of his enemy is fundamental in this technique. Jean, tought us the key points in our hands (palms, fingers, nails...) to disable the enemy with the less possible effort. I think the name of these japanese martial art, is Ninjutsu or 忍術 in japanese, but I'm not really sure... Any of you can help?

Minerva emerged as a headache from Zeus. As the goddess of wisdom, could only proceed from the upper part of his body. The head, so far from the earth, tends toward the sky, the place of the gods. In the Western tradition, the body is opposed to the mind. The latter placed in the origin of knowledge and of being of the noble thoughts, science and art. For years, science was conceived as the result of the mind.

Hands Atlas

Atlas is the name given in Greek mythology to a titan who, along with his brother Prometheus, contested the power of the gods of Olympus in order to make that power available to man. Legend has it that while Prometheus had his liver torn out by a vulture in the far East, Atlas was forced (in the West, between Andalusia and Morocco), to bear on his shoulders the weight of the celestial vault. It is also said, that from this weight he gained an unsurpassable knowledge of the world and an – albeit hopeless – wisdom.
